7th and 8th grade students: Are you motivated to work towards creating a school environment where all students are accepted for who they are dispite our individual differences? If so, you may want to join the HMS Civil Rights Team (CRT). An informational meeting will be held Wednesday, January 27th, from 2:30-3:00 in the small conference room. Stop by to learn more about the CRT!


WANTED: Hungry Math Minds! ALL students in grades 5-8 are invited to tackle challenging math problems to earn knowledge (and points!) in a school-wide contest. Miss Smith and Ms. Jorgensen have taken the MMSET competition over this year at HMS at will continue to release new MMSET problems throughout the year for students to chew on. Interested students must answer any number of questions from the latest MMSET (round 2), explain their answers and submit them to Miss Smith in room 104 by FRIDAY, JANUARY 29th. Each correct answer will get a point. Students who score at least 10 points or more for the whole year will be invited to attend a reception at HMS. Get Round 2 of the MMSETS TODAY from your math teacher or the bulletin board outside Room 104! NOTE: any student who submitted answers for round 1 of the MMSETS will get credit for their solutions.


Google Sketch-Up There will be a work session for the Google Sketch-Up team starting Friday after school in the computer lab and continuing on Friday afternoons through February. If you are interested in helping make 3-D buildings around Yarmouth to be posted in Google Earth, then please come to the computer lab after school on Friday.

Yearbook Meeting A Very Important yearbook meeting will be held in the library on Wed. Jan27th. This is open to ALL grades-5 through 8. Please make every effort to be there.


8th Grade Baby Pictures Due to the weather and lack of yearbook meeting last week, the deadline for 8th grade baby pictures has been extended through this Friday Jan. 29th. Put your picture (with your name on the back) in Mrs. Thorp's mailbox in the office.
